Invitation to the Royal Wedding - Florence style

I actually dithered about going to this – as I did my housework this morning – but fortunately a little bit of jingoism got the better of me and I dashed off towards the river to watch the Wedding of the Year on a gloriously huge screen in the British Institute Library.

My fellow expats put me to shame in their glorious wedding plumage – many -if not most of them  - significantly more elegant than some of the guests at the real event! Guests aside the Wedding was a real treat and I was totally unprepared for how emotional I felt about it – We fully entered into the spirit of the event – applauding the dress, standing for the National Anthem, and finally doing a loyal toast after the happy couple had left the Abbey.

The British Institute also put on a generous buffet for their many guests – for the whole event – much thanks!
