Carmen at St Mark’s English Church in Via Maggio
I have been taking friends and customers to these operas regularly since I moved to Florence three years ago – and the standard just gets better and better.
Tonight was the first time I have seen the group perform Carmen and it really worked well in the intimate setting of the English Church.
As always Franz Moser kept us all up to date with the plot just in case we couldn’t follow the language – and in addition to manfully moving the furniture around in line with the plot he was tonight justifiably proud of his new prop – a flame-free fire!
My visitors were delighted with their introduction to opera.
