Why Florence and why contact me?
Every time I cross the Ponte della Carraia on the way to my flat and see the Ponte Vecchio my heart still skips a beat
– what a view!
I first visited Florence with a school trip in the early 70’s whilst I was studying Art for my A levels and instantly fell deeply in love with the City.
I went on to complete a BA in Fine Art at St Martins School of Art and Farnham Art College but did not have much time to paint or draw once Corporate life took over.
Fortunately my job as Global Marketing Development Manager led to a lot of business travel, and it was whilst I was working on a potential acquisition in Milan ten years ago I decided it was time to learn Italian – and where better to learn than the original seat of the Italian language – Florence!
After a three month sabbatical at language school Centro Fiorenza, plus a lot of lessons in London, I can now communicate with my very patient Italian friends – trying not to murder their beautiful language!
After leaving my previous job in 2009 I decided to buy the apartment I had been renting and set up this Activity Holiday company, based in the UK but providing advice and support on Italian things to do in the UK as well as in Florence. All of the classes, courses and specialist tours are led by native Italians or Italian speakers who already work in Italy.
So now all my loves have come together into this package:- Art, History, Gardens, Cooking, Music and Literature – All things Italian! – plus hosting parties and organising events with some of my expert friends from UK and Italy – no wonder I look happy!
