Watercolour workshops with Glynis Barnes Mellish – 11- 15th October in Florence

Glynis and Victor

Glynis has done some fantastic new portrait paintings this year but she is still making time to do some workshops with Beyond the Yalla Dog in both London and Florence. We have a great group of regulars booked for next Sunday plus a new face for painting classes and someone we haven’t seen with a paint brush for a while – should make for an energetic session and a lot of fun!

Watercolour Workshop Programme – for Florence 11-15th October

10.00 whether we are doing portraits or a Tuscan landscape the lesson starts with a “get to know you” session of coffee with little cakes – plus an all important short demonstration by Glynis.

And everyone made a pretty good job of this task I think?

YouTube homeIf you would like to see Glynis live in action she has art tutor films available on YouTube – one of my favourites, which was painted after a previous painting workshop is shown below

It leads you onto a page with lots of tutorials by Glynis but the real thing is even better,  as you can ask questions too!

You can also check out Glynis’ work via Twitter @ https://twitter.com/glynisable

10.30 – we work on our paintings until nearly one o-clock – with water, coffee and tea available throughout the day

13.00 – lunch break of Tuscan panini plus pasta and salad – definitely hot food this weekend in the much cooler climate of London – and extremely unlikely we will eat outside again – wine, affectionatley referred to as painting water, is offered for those who feel the creative process is stimulated by a touch of alcohol!

Lambeth-20120225-02225In April this year in Florence at our classes at Casa Guidi, the lovely home of Victor and Suzanna we even had the chance to do some  Life Drawing when our model Victor agreed to shed some clothing for the day – protecting some parts of his modesty with a dried flower arrangement as shown below.

This was a real treat as Life models don’t come cheap and I was shocked when a few years ago I had to pay over €100 per day for Life Classes  in Florence where the promised live model turned out to be a bunch of plastic flowers!  …… Our daily prices in Florence are €69  per day and include a good lunch!

Whether you are an experienced artist looking for a chance to practice, or are brand new to watercolour painting and would like a congenial atmosphere with an excellent teacher to get you started, why not sign up for a few days and join our fun?

Price €69 in Florence.

Most painting materials – paper, paints, brushes and boards – are available to use – or buy – from me provided I know what you need in advance.

So please get in touch with me at info@beyondtheyalladog.com or on our Facebook events page and book your place asap as classes are limited to ten people per day.

At present we still have a couple of places for next weekend.
