Not a climb for the faint hearted!!
– Fortunately there is a gentler slope making it slightly easier to climb or descend this steep escarpment leading down towards the Arno.
The Bardini gardens were re-opened in 2005 after having been abandoned and closed for 30 years after the death of owner Ugo Bardini – who was the son of Stefano Bardini, antiquarian rival of Bernard Berensen, owner of I Tatti .
The garden is still under redevelopment by it’s new owners and is now, with support from the Ente Cassa di Risparmio, in a state of continuous improvement to bring it back to the splendour it once was.
