Saturday 28th May to Saturday 4th June – Galleria Pio Fedi, via de’Serragli 99, Firenze.
This evening we went to a Private View of an exhibition of photos by Pier Paolo Quaglia – held to promote his new book .
The Exhibition is held in old church Pio Fedi recently converted to exhibition space and the night began with an interview with Pier, the editor Mauro Pagliai, who owns the printing company Edizione Polistampa that printed the book, and the curator of the museum space Annalisa Rosa – who also wrote the introduction to the book.
The exhibition will continue for another week and during that time this beautifully presented book of thought provoking photos will be available at the special exhibition price of €30 as opposed to the jacket price of €35
Susan is shown below talking to Pier’s wife Cindy, who is a also a graphic designer and an actress – Pier himself is talking in the background. Cindy explained that the collage photo shown below had been created for their son – who has recently flown the nest to work and study in London.
Most of these photos spark some memories – because they use images that we see in the news every day – but the artist makes changes that make you look again – and again – at the content of the photo, and then – think about it!
