Notte Bianco – approaching 02.00am – shutters, double glazed windows, original windows and curtains closed and not a snowball in hell’s chance of sleeping!

Essentially the design of the Piazza sends sound upwards –  the thick walls collect and baffle the sound and we are in Phil Spectors studio here at the top of the house!

People People everywhere

Might as well Blog!

This is not to say that the Band isn’t good – and there is other great live music all over Oltrarno, aka the south side of the city.

If yesterday’s festivities were about history, religion and maybe politics  – today’s events- and especially tonight’s – are purely about eating, drinking and having fun!

These photos show tents full of food and drink – all known Florentine delicacies are on offer – even porcetta and trippa – and for dessert -these sweet biscuits !

Food glorious Food!

The Piazza is packed with people eating, drinking and dancing – seemingly good natured and just enjoying what the Irish would call the ‘craic’.

This area is usually crammed tight with cars – so it was good to see the cobbles in all their glory before they started setting up the stage and the tents this morning.

I wonder what the stones make of all this jumping about on them! They are doing Van Halen now!

?The Band plays on!

Carmine is not the only place for live music – there is great Jazz at Porta Romana and Folk and Pop down Via Romana – and Blues in Via Serragli.
