A good day for Italy yesterday with Ferrari ‘s Alonso winning the Formula One
And fighting off the – er -massive English Challenge to get through to the semi-final of the European Cup!
And then the third good thing for those of us who live south of the river in the Oltrarno was that the Whites – the team from Santa Spirito – won the San Giovanni Battista Football competion played in Piazza Santa Croce .
A good day for Italy – if a sad one for the English team!
I was able to see and hear the Italians cheer against you Brits while hanging around on a bridge until the 10:45 start of the fireworks!! 🙂 A kick to see all the big screen showings of the game at little kiosks throughout the parks and under trees along the Arno!! –Barbara (on count down for the California return)
Glad they gave you such a good send off but sorry to see you go home – I look forward to my rondini returning to Florence next spring!
