I have to admit I was a little worried when I saw our neighbours intake on Saturday night – strewth! – it is difficult to see on the photos but believe me that awesome quantity takes some serious drinking !

The boys spent half an hour by the lift showing off their fabulous outfits for the fancy dress ball – but to be fair to them we didn’t hear a thing when they came back when the party was over!

More than anything we have been overwhelmed by the friendliness and consideration shown by total strangers throughout our whole trip, offers of help when we look lost, and today in Melbourne a lady shared her umbrella at the bus stop because “rain isn’t good for the hair” – she was right – I looked “daggy”!!!!

There are also lots of Italians out here, some on holidays but many looking for work opportunities in this relatively prosperous land.

And tonight they told me there are pinguini (penguins) at St Kilda’s Bay , near where we are staying – so that has to be a must for tomorrow!
