Ha ! As a kind gent at a roadhouse told me ” our flies are real friendly , they like to get up close and personal straight away !” And it is so true – they don’t bother asking you out to dinner before they try to explore your intimate orifices so we have had to resort to the delightful fly nets under our hats!
They might not look very pretty but it sure beats having flies up your nose and inside your mouth!!! As shown here at the lookout for Mount Conner – not a long shot of Uluru as we thought at the time – we are continuously , and ineffectively, – swatting !!
Lisa Clifford wrote to suggest that the flies were included on the Australian National flag – not a bad idea except it could put the visitors off!
On the subject of the Art of Writing workshop that Lisa is running back in Tuscany in June I am delighted to be able to say that the course is already full and I am looking forward to meeting and working with all the delegates later in the year! As so many of them seem to be Australian I am considering this holiday as customer insight!!
G’day!
