So we are already in Singapore and well on our way home from Australia, so sad goodbyes and huge thank you’s to the Rex family and hope that they make it to London in the Summer to share our home again.
So many great memories from our three weeks and only regrets are not being able to meet up with dear friends like Lesley Thompson and Ann Robinson who sadly had to dash to comfort her bereaved sister. Our condolences to her family for their loss and hope to see Ann – and her father in Florence again this summer.
Our overriding memory of Australia has got to be how friendly everyone was – taking time to stop us and offer help when we looked lost – rather more often than we might have liked! Teasing us mercilessly over our plans to travel by car, stay in roadhouses and ride camels – leaving me helpless with laughter on one occasion! But mainly for accepting our Pomminess for what it is and being happy to share our enjoyment of their country!
We will have to come back – if only to climb the bridge when we get to 85 and do a toast to the intrepid Lloyd!
