I think this year has been the best ever for our painting classes in both London and in Florence – and we have really started to get some great results from our artists in both locations
Last weekend in London we had only one day together so we stuck to graded washes and then a bowl of fruit working from some previous exercises in Glynis’s book WaterColour Workshop II – simple steps to success.
It is a remarkably simple formula as the secondary name suggests – although not exactly as easy to complete as Glynis makes it look in her demonstrations!
Then everyone else has to have a go – they certainly studied hard throughout the demonstration process!
All the paintings in my downstairs working area that you can almost see on the wall behind were done on our first watercolour workshop in Tuscany – at the Watermill at Posara near Fivizzano – another great location for an event!

A location at the watermill is shown above and Glynis’s painting of Debs and Jane working in the same area at the Watermill is shown below !
The grapes and blueberries came out well for everyone – and their reward?
Why we ate them of course…. … whilst they were still fresh!
