I have been contacted by a friend of a friend of mine who asked me to promote her forthcoming “Singing and Cooking” trip to Florence and Siena – and as I am busy checking and printing recipes for our forthcoming cookery classes  in London this weekend it seemed as good a thing as anything else to tell the world about in relation to what is happening in Tuscany, !!

Who knows, (non e una cattiva idea!)- maybe we will all be singing along as we cook together with Lisa Banchieri in London tomorrow evening?

In addition,  Jennifer is promoting

Moira Smiley – SLAP!!

Her workshop in Florence is in St Mark’s English Church in Florence

on Monday 10th September 2012

17.30 – 19.00

cost €20

The full concert is on 14th September 2012

As shown above the event team are based in Siena from 8th- 15th September so if you miss in Florence it seems there will be other activity in Siena

… seeking to promote cultural exchange through exploring musical
and cultural collaborations around the world.

Inspiration – Jennifer’s story!

After years of enjoying singing world songs in a community choir in Sydney I thought I would like to take in a bigger and more inspiring experience and travel to these far off lands where these songs originated from.

I dreamt of totally immersing myself in the culture – eating the food, drinking the wine, singing the songs and dancing the dances with the locals.

Having organised concerts and multi cultural events in Sydney, Australia I saw first hand how music communicates and connects as a universal language and how it can bridge the gap between the cultures.

This inspired my dream even more.

Then, in 2004 an opportunity arose that had the potential to make that dream a reality… a dear friend had a wonderful venue in an exquisite environment that became available to use.

It offered all the magic ingredients – a spiritual retreat centre in the heartland of Tuscany with a great bunch of locals that wanted to share their food, their wine, their songs and their hearts.

I approached the extraordinary Australian singer, songwriter and choir director, Rachel Hore to join me and together we launched ‘Singing in Tuscany’ with the beautiful Kavisha Mazzella.

This was to be the first of many highly successful international public workshop tours, attracting a great group of like minded souls.

It proved to be not only my dream but the dream of many people from around the world and of all ages and all levels of singing.

A dream that celebrates our diversity through our oneness.

A dream that brings together talented facilitators and all the right ingredients for an experience of a lifetime.

This led to Singabout being launched in 2007.

Singabout has some really exciting workshop tours planned that include Sikkim, Samoa, Siena & Siam as well as many other adventures planned into 2013 and beyond.

… good enough to singabout!

Warning – these holidays could become addictive!

Note from Penny – all holidays in Tuscany can become addictive and thanks as always to my friends who have come back so often!
